CITY OF SARNIA NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

Please be advised that a public meeting of Sarnia City Council is scheduled for Monday, April 10, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, to hear the application listed below. Please check with the City Clerk for the time when this application will be dealt with.

REZONING APPLICATION 2-2017-85 OF 2002 is a City-initiated general amendment to the City’s Zoning By-law No. 85 of 2002 that would provide a definition for “Modified Shipping Container”, which means a shipping container altered from its original state and appearance to be used as a main building or part thereof, and shall include, foundations, windows and doors, and external painting or cladding, as well as all provisions required under the Ontario Building Code and Fire Code for its intended use.

Shipping containers are pre-fabricated metal containers or structures that have a floor, ceiling or roof, walls and door(s). They are typically 1.5 to 16 metres in length, and are designed for the storage of goods and materials while under transport by ship, rail or truck.

The proposed By-law amendment would apply City-wide and for this reason no map is provided.
