By City Staff

Financial Times has released their report: 2017/2018 American fDi Cities of the Future

Sarnia: A global leader in a micro city

FDi has once again ranked Sarnia eighth among North American micro cities for business friendliness. Located at the centre of the Great Lakes, on the St. Lawrence Seaway system, with access to major highway, rail, water and air corridors, Sarnia has been the preeminent Canadian chemical and refining cluster in eastern Canada since 1942. The city is also a world leader in plant construction, process engineering and operations, metal fabrication, sustainable energy production and environmental technology and management. BioAmber and NOVA Chemicals are two major investors who benefit from Sarnia's Bioindustrial Innovation Centre, Sustainable Chemical Alliance and the University of Western Ontario Research Parks.
