2017 City of Sarnia Accessibility Awards

Each year the City of Sarnia Accessibility Awards recognizes local businesses and individuals that have excelled and have demonstrated leadership in going above and beyond in improving accessibility and awareness for people with disabilities.

The Sarnia Accessibility Advisory Committee are asking members of the community to send in nominations of businesses and individuals they feel have helped to create an accessible environment for the citizens of Sarnia.

The nominations have been broken-down into the following categories:

  • Prelude to Excellence (for large and small businesses)
  • Exceptional leadership in Customer Service
  • Creating opportunities for an Accessible Community
  • Exceptional Accessible Physical Environment 
  • Going Above and Beyond Award
  • Outstanding Customer Service in a Social Service Sector (NEW)

New this year is the Outstanding Customer Service in a Social Service Sector award. This award will be given to an individual in social services that goes above and beyond the call of duty for people with disabilities.

The awards will be given out on October 2, 2017 at Sarnia City Council.
