Shred Event Confirmed for May 26

By Sarnia Police Service

The annual Shred Event has been finalized.  With the help of this year’s major sponsor, Lambton Mall, this event will be taking place on May 26, 2018, between the hours of 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.

The event will take place in the north east corner of the Lambton Mall parking lot (to the north of Canadian Tire).

We are asking people to bring any documentation that could be used by criminals for fraudulent activities (paper work with names, dates of birth, addresses, SIN’s, etc.).

Please do not bring newspapers or magazines in as they take up too much space and all one has to do is remove the address from the cover by ripping it off. Also, we please ask businesses to refrain from using this service as this is for personal household documents.

Members of the Law Enforcement Torch Run will also be present and will be accepting donations for the Special Olympics.

The Sarnia Police Service and the Lambton Mall are looking forward to helping their community and ensuring that identity theft is something that our citizens are not exposed to.
