Canatara Beach 2018 Blue Flag Award

By City Staff

The City of Sarnia’s Canatara Beach is one of 27 beaches across Canada to be awarded the prestigious Blue Flag, eco-certification, for the 2018 beach season.

The Blue Flag represents the internationally recognized “gold-standard” for water quality, environmental management and education, safety and amenities, as stated in the recent Environmental Defence release.

Canatara Beach has been proudly flying a Blue Flag since 2014, and is one of four locations within Lambton County to do so. More details regarding the Blue Flag Program can be found at BlueFlag.ca

The Parks and Recreation Department provides Lifeguard staff at Canatara Beach Monday to Sunday between the hours of 11:30am – 5:00pm beginning June 23 ending August 26, 2018.
