Transit Orientation Day -October 5, 2018
By City Staff
The City of Sarnia and the Age-Friendly Sarnia Steering Committee invite all members of the public to attend Transit Orientation Day. This event will be held on Friday October 5, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Strangway Centre, 260 East Street North.
Transit Orientation Day is an excellent opportunity for people who have never taken Sarnia Transit before to learn how to find a bus route, read a timetable and plan a trip.
Regular Care-a-Van riders will have an opportunity to learn about the accessible features of our new Sarnia Transit buses.
The event will also discuss how the new Transit app can assist in tracking the location of a bus in real time, showing departure times for nearby bus routes, and reviewing various route options to reach a rider’s destination.
Sarnia Transit staff will be available to answer any questions. A free lunch in the Strangway Centre Café will be provided as well.
“Our new buses feature many accessibility improvements. We encourage residents to come and try out their personal mobility aid, motorized wheelchair or scooter on one of our buses at the event,” explains Dale Mosley, Accessibility Coordinator.
