City Council consists of the Mayor, four City and County Council members, and four City Council members.
City and County Council members are elected to serve on both the City of Sarnia and Lambton County Councils, along with the Mayor. City Councillors serve on City Council only.
Members of Council are elected by residents to a four-year term of office.

MARGARET BIRD is a published author and public speaker, who has lived and worked in three countries before emigrating to Canada. She brings much ‘to the table’ - teaching, research, industry, business, project management, creative and cultural arts, communications, community volunteer and mentor. She worked for the Polysar / NOVA / Bayer group for 21 years in global leadership positions.
Margaret currently serves on Lambton Seniors Association Board of Directors, Alzheimer Society Judges for their annual writing contest; facilitates a weekly Writers Group and, on occasion, plays in the senior residences and homes, entertaining the residents.
Margaret's hobbies and interests are music, photography, writing, reading, and discovering all the hidden scenic spots in our community. She is highly honoured to represent the community in her role on City Council.
Dave Boushy, City and County Councillor

Dave Boushy is married with 5 children and has a municipal career spanning some 35 years as a member of city and county council. During those years he served on the majority, if not all civic committees.
In June of 1995 David was elected as member of provincial parliament and served until 1999. During that time he served on almost every provincial government committee and was vice – chair of the standing committee of regulation and private bills.
David returned to Sarnia Council in 2004.
On November 2005 a Long-Standing Service Award was presented to Dave by the Ontario Government for his “over 25 years of Municipal Service and for showing immense leadership and commitment to his community of Sarnia Lambton”.

Nathan Colquhoun is a founder of theStory, Storyboard Solutions, Refined Fool Brewing Company, Burger Rebellion, Mexico, Festival of Good Things and Run of Exploding Colour and he sits on the board of Habitat for Humanity Sarnia-Lambton. He was elected in his first official term as city councilor in 2018.

Bill Dennis is a lifelong Sarnia resident and a proud Real Estate Broker with Re/Max Sarnia Realty Inc. Bill has been an award winning real estate broker in Sarnia for 25 years and has been recognized over the years as a top five agent in Ontario for transactions. Bill is also a very active self-taught financial investor who trades in the financial markets daily. Bill is married to Janice McMichael- Dennis (who is the President and CEO of Bluewater Power Group of Companies) and is also the proud Father to two sons. Bill studied at both Fanshawe College (Municipal Affairs and Assessment) and the University of Windsor (Political Science). This is Bills first official foray into Politics and he was exceptionally pleased to top the polls for the City Council seats. Bill is both approachable and responsive and is whole-heartedly committed to the City of Sarnia and its people.

Born in the Maritimes and moved to Sarnia at a very young age and have resided in Sarnia for the past 63 years. Attended St. Patrick's Secondary School in Sarnia, graduating in 1972. I moved to London, Ontario in 1973 to attend post secondary school at Western University, graduating in 1975 with a Bachelor of Economics and continued residence in London through 1976, where I started my work career with Brewers Warehousing Corporation in their auditing division. Returned to Sarnia in 1978, assisting with the family business, Stark's Jewellers Limited. Assumed the role of President and CEO in 1990 and continue in that role through to the present. I have experience in the financial services sector, where I worked as a financial planner for three different national firms. I married Cynthia in 1974 and we have three grown children, Ryan, Cortney and Kyle. We have four grandchildren, Olivia, Mia, Joseph and Nika.

Brian White, City and County Councillor

Brian was born and raised in Sarnia and is married with 2 young children. He has lived and worked in Nova Scotia and in the remote northern Community of Wemindji, QC. Through his work in documentary, he has traveled and worked in every province and territory, except for Yukon. Brian's community activism is spread across the country, but has been locally based since returning home in 2007. Brian is currently serving his second term as Board President for St. Clair Child and Youth Services, Lambton County's front-line mental health provider for people 18 and under. He also serves on the agency's Services and Programs Committee, and Community Relations Committee. Brian served on Sarnia's Save The Jail Committee, the Sarnia Lambton Health Coalition and Lambton Environmental Action Plan. Brian has also organized or assisted in organizing many community meetings, such as the Citizen's Addiction Awareness Meeting, steered towards giving our community a voice in the path towards an addiction and recovery centre. He gives a lot of time working with groups to strengthen their own missions, by speaking publicly or strategizing at their tables. Along with his wife Jessi, he is the organizer for the local Trek for Tourette. Serving his first term on Council, he has been appointed to the Sarnia Environmental Assessment Committee and the Lambton County Rural Game Protective Association.
