2016 City of Sarnia Accessibility Awards
Each year the City of Sarnia Accessibility Awards recognizes local businesses and individuals that have excelled and demonstrated leadership in improving accessibility and awareness for people with disabilities.
The Sarnia Accessibility Advisory Committee asked members of the community to submit nominations for businesses they feel have helped to create an accessible customer environment.
The 2016, the award winners are:
Boston Pizza - Prelude to Excellence: Creating inclusive business environment for a large business (30+ employees)
One Tooth Active Wear - Prelude to Excellence: Creating inclusive business environments for a small business (1 to 30 employees)
A & W Lambton Mall - Exceptional Leadership in Customer Service
Joanne Somlai, SD Lambton - Creating Opportunities for an Accessible Community
Lambton Mall Marketing - Exceptional Accessible Physical Environment
Dan Edwards - Going Above and Beyond Award
Each business and individual has done an outstanding job in making Sarnia a more accessible and inclusive place to live, and ensuring people with disabilities are able to participate fully in this community.
