Sarnia Accessibility Advisory Committee

The Sarnia Accessibility Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a Committee of Council that meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 3:00 to 4:30 at Sarnia City Hall.

To improve the identification, removal and prevention of barriers faced by persons with disabilities within the City of Sarnia.


The Sarnia Accessibility Advisory Committee (SAAC)  assists Sarnia City Council in making it easier for people with disabilities to access City of Sarnia programs, services and facilities through the City of Sarnia Accessibility Plan.

 SAAC will also be responsible for the following:

  1. Provide feedback to council by monitoring federal and provincial government directives and regulations,

  2. Conducting research on accessibility issues

  3. Providing workshops, education and communication to the public on accessibility issues within the community as required

  4. Liaising with local stakeholder groups on accessibility issues
