City of Sarnia

3rd Annual Community Parks Clean-Up Day

The City of Sarnia Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Sarnia Gives and Nova Chemicals, presents:

The 3rd Annual Community Parks Clean-Up Day
Saturday, April 22nd, 2017
10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Join us in cleaning up our City parks, trails, boulevards and public spaces!

Through this initiative, which coincides with Earth Week, we are asking our community to get outdoors into their neighborhoods and parks.  We invite you, our citizens, community groups/committees, local service clubs, and local organizations to:

  1. Gather and assemble a crew
  2. Identify a park space you wish to clean
  3. Register that site with our Parks and Recreation Department

Once registered, clean-up groups will receive supplies and support within those parks (gloves, garbage/recycling bags, paint, rakes, first-aid kit).  Supplies provided by Nova Chemicals.

Without a clean-up crew or specific site in mind?

Join the Parks and Recreation Department Community Clean-up Day group at:
Canatara Park, Area One
10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Sarnia Gives will be approaching all high schools as part of the "Change the World" youth volunteer initiative where Sarnia Gives will engage and educate students on the importance of volunteering and will look to have students to participate and gain valuable volunteer community experience.  We are expecting great support from our high school student community!

For more information on this program, to register your specific park clean-up site, or to register as a volunteer for Canatara Park, please visit the Sarnia Gives website, or call the Parks and Recreation Department at (519) 332-0330.
